Jay Whelchel has been a long time resident of the City of Boca Raton since 1978.   He has a beautiful wife (Melissa Whelchel) and a baby boy (Jack Whelchel, 17-months).  Jay has recently been appointed to the Executive Committee for the Boca Raton Historical Society’ Board of Directors and has been a long term supporter of the George Snow Scholarship Foundation, having served on the Scholarship Application Committee for the last 4 years.

Jay graduated with an Engineering degree from Florida State University.   Built on his Engineering foundation, Jay’s made his place as a Real Estate Professional.   Recently, the Patten Family of Companies recruited Jay to become their  Vice President of Acquisitions.  His team of industry specialists understand the extraordinary challenges facing lenders (sellers) and investors (buyers) in today’s troubled asset marketplace. The Patten Family of Companies can deliver the industry-specific knowledge and experience necessary to bridge the gap between the “bid and ask” to find innovative solutions for sellers of troubled assets.

Jay Whelchel is also a licensed real estate salesperson, licensed mortgage broker and Certified Investment Member (CCIM). In 2008 Jay successfully completed the portfolio sale of properties for the Florida Atlantic Research and Development Park for $97 Million. Jay has completed over $200 Million investment sales transactions since 2006 during his tenure with Flagler Real Estate Services.
